Another person who has been a huge help and inspiration to my musical life is the piper Seán McKiernan. He gave me a cassette some years ago of recordings of Michael Carney which enabled me to discover Michael’s piping, and the recordings included the first reel here. I learnt the second one from Tommy Keane and I he got it from Jimmy O’Brien Moran. One can hear Jimmy play it in the form of a Polka on his beautiful album Take me Tender.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
